In our two-part Becoming a Best Boss module, we begin with an exercise about best and worst bosses, a related reflection, and provide participants with the specific way we recommend to debrief it. This exercise serves as a touchstone for understanding effective leadership. We then briefly summarize our 2024-2025 research study, the key findings, and implications. We also discuss how leadership impacts on stress, emotional health, work relationships, and performance.
In the second half of our program, we outline a one-hour training module that T&D/OD professionals can use immediately. This module will help training professionals continue their own process of personal leadership development. More importantly, it will give them the content and tools to help them train others, especially new supervisors/managers, so that they might internalize the attributes of best bosses.
