Developing Blended Learning Courses - Lunch and Learn Webinar
PRESENTER: Dr. Charlene Smith, Wegmans School of Nursing, St. John Fisher College
This webinar addresses the key elements to consider when developing blended learning courses. Professor Charlene Smith will discuss the role of faculty, students, technology, and instructional design in the successful deployment of courses in a blended learning format. As a result of participating in this webinar, learners will be able to: • Define blended learning • Discuss the role of technology in supporting learning outcomes • Explain the transformation of student and faculty roles in a blended learning course • Apply instructional design principles for developing and assessing blended courses. Charlene M. Smith , DNS, MSEd, RN, WHNP, BC is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the Wegmans School of Nursing at St. John Fisher College. Dr. Smith is the RN to BS Hybrid Track Coordinator, and has been in instrumental in successfully implementing blended learning formats targeted to meet the needs of working adults earning their BS degrees. Her clinical practice and research interests include women’s health; staff development; and distance learning.
